The African Responsible Gaming Network (ARGN) launched on Monday, with the aim of strengthening player protection and tackling gambling-related harm.

The initiative brings together stakeholders such as responsible gaming organisations, researchers and treatment specialists.

It is said to mark a “significant step forward” in addressing gambling-related harm across the continent, facilitating relationships between representatives from a number of countries both inside and outside Africa.

These breaches escalated his sanction to a permanent ban and a significantly larger fine compared to others involved.

The platform’s Rule 5.17(z), cited in all the matters, strictly prohibits trading in contracts where participants have decision-making power or can otherwise influence the underlying event, regardless of influence magnitude.

Playtech CEO Mor Weizer on Thursday said the supplier was expecting to launch in Brazil early next year despite political uncertainty impacting its deal with Caixa.

In 2025, Playtech agreed a partnership to provide a platform for the launch of Brazilian state-owned bank Caixa’s betting operations.

Weizer previously said the Caixa tender could be “one of the most significant opportunities for Playtech for the coming years”.
